HUS sends cancer screening reminders to 271 accidentally

Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) sent reminders to attend cervical cancer screening to 271 residents in Pyhtää mistakenly following an error occurred in information system, said HUS in a press release on Friday.

The accidental reminders have been sent to people in the age group who were normally invited to attend the screening in 2020.

Cervical cancer screening in Pyhtää is being transferred to HUS during 2023.

The sampling in Pyhtää will begin in May, according to the initial schedule.

While preparing this matter, an information system error occurred as a result 271 people accidentally received a reminder from HUS inviting them to the screening.

These invites are unnecessary, and those who received them do not need to attend the screening.

Everyone who received the accidental reminder will be invited to the screening according to their age in 2025.
