Coronavirus death toll raises to 98 in Finland

The coronavirus death toll in Finland has raised to 98 as four more people- three in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) and one in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS)- died in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.
Till Monday a total of 67 patients had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 21 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), six in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), two in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, and two in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa (OYS) Hospital District, said the THL.
The identities of the deceased, however, could not be known as the THL did not divulge any details in this regard.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 3868 as 85 more cases had been diagnosed in the last 24 hours till Monday afternoon.
A total of 2526 of the cases were reported in the Uusimaa region and more than half of them in Helsinki, said the THL report.
Presently, 209 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 67 in intensive care units.
Currently, laboratories are testing about 4,000 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
