Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has nominated Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Ukraine's state energy company Naftogaz, to serve as the country's new prime minister, Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
In a post on Facebook, Stefanchuk wrote that the Ukrainian parliament had received the president's proposal on Koretskyi's appointment and would consider it in the near future.
If the parliament endorses Koretskyi's nomination for prime minister, he will succeed Yulia Svyrydenko, who resigned earlier this week.
Koretskyi, 48, is an entrepreneur who has held executive and senior management positions at various companies in the energy sector, including Naftogaz, which he has led since May 2025.
