A man killed two people and injured three others in southeast Moscow on Tuesday before he was detained.

At the Ryazansky public service center, the perpetrator "in an inadequate state" started shooting after the guard asked him to put on a face mask, reported Xinhua, quoting TASS news agency.

An employee of the center and a visitor were killed, while a girl was among the injured.

The attacker, a former soldier, used a military weapon that had not been registered in his name.

A criminal case has been opened and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has expressed his condolences.
