Nineteen students and 13 staff of a school in Helsinki went to quarantine for two weeks after being exposed to coronavirus on the school premises, said the City of Helsinki in a press release on late Sunday night.

The city authorities have already contacted the quarantined students and staff of the Herttoniemenranta Primary School and informed their guardians about the exposure and gave them the necessary instructions.

The total number of students at the school is 520.

The school will provide the quarantined students with distance learning while the rest of the students will continue their studies as usual.

“Despite this exposure, the school is safe for students and staff. School activities will continue normally on Monday,” said City of Helsinki’s Director of Education Liisa Pohjolainen

She said schools in the city will run normal activities following the safe distancing and good hygiene instructions.
