Vantaa moves to improve free park meals

The City of Vantaa has taken an initiative to improve the park meals distributed among the children and seniors during the summer, said the City in a press release on Monday.

The city authority has initiated a survey, which will continue until August 7 to know the thought of the people about the food and activities offered in the parks.

The survey can be answered in Finnish, Swedish or English anonymously.

“The survey results will be used to help develop and improve park meals,” said the city in the press release.

Park meals were distributed at free of cost to children and young people under the age of 18 and to seniors living in Vantaa from 1 June to 31 July.

Meals for children and young people were distributed at seven locations across the city.

For seniors, park meals were distributed at two locations. Park meals were occasionally accompanied by activities such as music and outdoor exercise.
