The two-day Lapland Construction Fair 2017 at Rovaniemi’s Lappi Arena ended on Sunday. The fair attracted thousands of visitors interested to learn about various construction, interior, design, and household-related products now available on the market.

Around 100 building, renovation, interior and decoration companies took part in the fair organised by Pohjois-Suomen Messut (North Finland Fair). Aila Jääski, the organising company’s managing director, expressed her satisfaction at the number of participants.

On Saturday, the Lappi Arena was teeming with people going from stall to stall to gather the latest information about the market situation of building, renovation, designing, decorating and household articles.

The fair is being organised in Rovaniemi since 1975.

Most of the stall owners were found to pointing out the features and facilities of their products’ new technologies to the visitors.

“We are offering a first class underfloor heating device. In this product we use HVAC-CAD software which includes an underfloor heating design programme,” said Tero Heikkila, sales manager at Warmia Oy, a company specialised in design, installation and marketing of Hydronic underfloor solutions in Finland.

Heikkila said his company has been participating in the fair every year since 2003 as it helps them get publicity and marketing.

Esa Palokangas, a representative of Rovaniemen Lvi, a company dealing in sanitation, water supply and heating service renovation, said they have set up a stall in the fair as it offers a very good chance to introduce the company’s products and services.

Petri Kohtanen from Termex-Eriste Oy, a fibre insulation and fibre-moving equipment producer, said his company provides good protection against frost and wind. It has been meeting adequately the growing demand for better energy-efficiency and premium indoor thermal comfort by recycled paper insulation.

Termex has become one of the biggest CFI producers in the Northern Europe, he said, adding that Termex has production lines in Saarijärvi and Tuusula in Finland and in Bialogard, Poland.

There is a growing ‘Termex Family’ of professionals spreading the good news of this ecological way of insulating homes, Kohtanen said.

Most of the visitors said they came to the fair to get an idea about the construction products as here there is a scope to get answers to their questions from the company officials.

“I am planning to build a new house. It is a great opportunity to know about the modern technologies related to buildings and interior products,” one of the visitors told the Daily Finland.
