Number of bankruptcies rises in Finland in Sep

A total of 344 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in Finland in September 2026, which is 55 bankruptcies more than in the corresponding period one year before, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,057, which is 17 staff-years fewer than in September 2025.
The 12-month moving annual change in instigated bankruptcy proceedings was 8 per cent in September 2026.
A total of 32 enterprises in manufacturing, 54 in trade and 64 in construction filed for bankruptcy.
In August, a total of 296 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in Finland, which is 22 bankruptcies more than in the corresponding period one year before.
