Prices of old house in Finland drop by 3.3% in August Y-on-Y

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.3 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in August 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

Compared with the previous month, prices remained the same.

Prices declined in all the large towns except Oulu where the prices rose by 2.0 per cent. Prices decreased most in Helsinki (3.7%) and Turku (3.3%).

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 2.9 per cent in the six largest towns and by 3.8 per cent outside large towns in August 2026 compared with one year ago.

In Greater Helsinki, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.5 per cent from one year ago but increased by 0.8 per cent from the previous month.

In the whole country, prices of dwellings in blocks of flats decreased by 3.8 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 2.0 per cent compared with one year ago.

In August, 8.5 per cent less sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
