Number of job vacancies rises slightly in Finland in Q2

There were 29,600 open job vacancies in the second quarter of 2026, which is two per cent more than one year earlier (28,900), according to Statistics Finland.
A total of 19,500 or 66 per cent of the job vacancies were in establishments owned by private enterprises.
The number increased from one year ago especially in establishments of private enterprises by 600.
The biggest regional change was the increase in the number of job vacancies in the major region of Helsinki-Uusimaa (+1,600).
Examined by the industry of the establishment, the biggest change was the increase in job vacancies (+1,400) in construction.
The change in the number of job vacancies (+1,500) was largest in establishments with 10 to 49 employees.
In the second quarter, 34 per cent of all job vacancies were fixed-term, which is five percentage points lower than one year earlier.
The share of part-time jobs in all job vacancies was 19 per cent, which is 15 percent more than in the previous year.
Employers estimated that 33 per cent of the job vacancies were hard-to-fill, which is three percentage points lower than one year before.
