Prices of old house in Finland drop by 3% in May

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.0 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in May 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

Compared with the previous month, prices decreased by 0.2 per cent.

Among large towns, prices rose only in Turku, by 3.2 per cent. Prices declined most in Vantaa (7.5%) and in Espoo (4.9%).

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.2 per cent in the six largest towns and by 2.7 per cent outside large towns in May 2026 compared with one year ago.

In Greater Helsinki, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.8 per cent from one year ago but remained unchanged from the previous month.

In the whole country, prices of dwellings in blocks of flats decreased by 3.9 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 1.0 per cent compared with one year ago.

In May, 16.1 per cent less sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
