The Finnish trade policy magazine Kauppapolitiikka will end its publication in June 2026 after 93 years journey, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Monday.
The last issue of the magazine will feature reminiscences by former editors-in-chief from past decades and ask how Finland will develop as part of the global economy in the years ahead.
Amid geopolitical turmoil, the theme articles highlight an opposite development: the European Union has reached, or is in the process of reaching, agreements with several partners to remove trade barriers. These countries collectively form a market of 2.6 billion people.
The final issue also features former editors-in-chief from past decades reflecting on the major developments of their respective eras.
The Kauppapolitiikka magazine started journey in 1933, when the Ministry for Foreign Affairs began publishing economic and trade updates.
“Now, after 93 years, the magazine comes to an end as government communications functions will be centralised and transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office,” said the ministry in a press release.
The magazine’s social media channels will close as well. An online archived version of the magazine will remain available until further notice.
