Prices of liquid fuels, electricity rise in Q1

Prices of liquid fuels and electricity rose in Finland in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the corresponding period in 2025, according to Statistics Finland.
Of the domestic fuels used in energy production, the prices of forest chippings and milled peat fell.
In March 2026, the consumer price of petrol rose by eight per cent, diesel by 16 per cent, light fuel oil by 42 per cent and the price of renewable diesel by six per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
The consumer price of wood pellets fell by nine per cent in February 2026 compared to one year earlier.
The taxable price of milled peat fell by three per cent in the first quarter of 2026 and the price of forest chippings by five per cent compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
In February 2026, the total price of electricity for household customers went up by 14 to 25 per cent compared to one year earlier.
For enterprise and corporate customers, the price increased by between 24 and 127 per cent.
