Building costs rise in Finland by 1.5% in March Y-on-Y

Building costs increased by 1.5 per cent in Finland in March 2026 compared to the previous year's corresponding period, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in timber structures (7.3%) and in house equipment (4.0%).

Costs decreased most in the year in heat insulation (3.9%) and in soil (1.8%).

Labour input costs increased by 3.5 per cent and the costs of materials increased by 0.8 per cent in March compared to a year ago.

The costs of services decreased by 1.8 per cent compared to a year ago.
