Finnish vehicle stock grows in 2025

The Finnish vehicle register contained 7,425,114 vehicles, of which 5,178,005 were in traffic use at the end of 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

The total number of registered vehicles grew by 1.2 per cent, whereas the number of vehicles in traffic use decreased by 1.5 per cent compared to the end of 2024.

At the end of 2025, there were 3,819,975 registered passenger cars in Finland, which was one per cent more than one year earlier.

There were 2,723,489 passenger cars in traffic use, which was 2.5 per cent fewer than in 2024.

There were 169,458 fully electric passenger cars registered in Mainland of Finland at the end of 2025, which was 39 per cent more than in 2024.

The average age of registered passenger cars was 17.8 years in Mainland Finland. The average age has increased by 0.5 years from 2024.
