Prices of old houses drop by 2.8% in January

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 2.8 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in January 2026, according to Statistics Finland.
Compared with the previous month, prices decreased by 0.4 per cent.
Prices declined in all large towns relative to a year ago. Prices declined most in Helsinki (4.4%) and in Turku (4.1%).
Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.1 per cent in the six largest towns and by 2.3 per cent outside large towns in January compared with one year ago.
In Greater Helsinki, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 3.3 per cent from one year ago and by 1.3 per cent compared with the previous month.
In the whole country, prices of dwellings in blocks of flats decreased by 3.5 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 1.2 per cent compared with one year ago.
In January, five per cent less sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
