New car registration drops by 3% in Finland in 2025

A total of 71,890 new passenger cars were registered in Mainland Finland in 2025, which was 3 per cent fewer than in 2024, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 124,340 new vehicles were registered in 2025. First registrations decreased by 4 per cent compared to the previous year.

Of first-time registered passenger cars in Mainland Finland, 37 per cent were fully electric.

The number of electric car registrations was 26,748, which was 22 per cent more than in 2024.

Used imported passenger cars numbered 41,092, which was 5 per cent fewer than in 2024.
