Opening and closure of enterprises rise in Finland in 2025 Q3

There were 10,060 enterprise openings in July to September 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

At the same time, enterprise closures numbered 8,843.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, enterprise openings increased by 900 and enterprise closures by 1,300.

In July to September 2025, there were 1,200 more enterprise openings than closures.

This is because over 800 more enterprise openings than closures were recorded in transportation and storage.

The number of enterprise closures increased in each region except South Karelia and Kainuu from the respective period of the year before.
