Finland´s largest retailer S group on Thursday decided to stop selling products from Israel following the serious human rights violation in Gaza, said the company in a press release.

"The decision was based on a long-standing public debate about the situation in Gaza, serious human rights violations in the region, increased customer feedback to our owners, and the increasingly brutal military actions against civilians in the Gaza Strip,” S Group Sustainability Director Nina Elomaa said in a press release.

She also said that at the same time, both the United Nations and the European Commission tightened their stance on Israel, which prompted the authority to take the decision.

As per the announcement made in September, S Group will not purchase products from Isreal for temporarily and it was easy to implement the decision as the number of products in the range was very small.

Some products, however, will remain available until the existing products are sold out and there were not dates or fruits in company stores now.

The company will review the situation, if the situation is changed significantly.
