New car registration drops by 3% in Feb

A total of 6,114 new passenger cars were registered in February 2023, which was 3 per cent fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 10,282 new vehicles were registered in February. First registrations decreased by 10 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

Of first-time registered passenger cars, 30 per cent were electric. The number of their registrations was 1,852, or 136 per cent higher than one year earlier.

Used imported passenger numbered 2,350, which was 26 per cent fewer than one year earlier.

In January, a total of 7,175 new passenger cars were registered, which was 9 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
