Olkiluoto 2 temporarily halts electricity production

Power generation at the Olkiluoto 2 plant unit (OL2) will be suspended on Friday, 27 January pending the repair of a valve malfunction,said Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) in a press release.
The power downgrade will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and the plant will be disconnected from the grid at around 7 p.m.
OL2´s electricity generation will resume on Sunday, 29 January. The plant unit will be paced back online on Sunday afternoon, after which a power increase will begin. Increasing the power takes about 50 hours.
The issue has no impact on nuclear safety.
