New car registration drops by 6% in Oct

A total of 6,195 new passenger cars were registered in October 2022, which was 6 % fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 11,217 new vehicles were registered in October. First registrations decreased by 4 % from the corresponding month of the previous year.

Out of the first-time registered passenger cars, 20 % were electric. The number of their registrations was 1,238, or 4 % higher than one year earlier.

Used imported passenger cars numbered 2,890, which was 27 % fewer than one year earlier.
