Return journeys of people from holiday trips during the Easter vacation was found smooth on Monday, the last day of the Easter holidays that began on April 14 through Good Friday.

The return traffic was congestion-free on the main roads and highways, said the Finnish Transport Agency.

No major accidents or human casualty were reported on the highways, although there might have been a few small sporadic incidents.

The traffic rush on the highways started to intensify from the morning on Monday and peaked after the noon.

The Transport Agency said there has been no congestion and the traffic during the day was smooth.

The driving conditions were comparatively better on Monday. The sunny and warm weather in most of the country made the driving condition good for the holidaymakers, who earlier, at the beginning of the holidays, faced snowfall and slippery roads in some areas.

Meanwhile, passengers’ rush in the public transports was huge on Monday and the holidaymakers were also found to return home by train, bus, and other public transports.
