Teenage boy killed as car rams into restaurant terrace in Vantaa

A teenage boy was killed when a private car rammed into the terrace of a roadside restaurant after a collision with another car in Vantaa on Saturday evening, police said.

The accident took place at about 7:20 p.m. when two private cars collided on the intersection of Talvikkitie and Hernetie roads at Tikkurila area.

One of the cars skidded off the road and crashed into the terrace of the restaurant named Pizza Express Grill House.

There were several people on the terrace and the car hit a 15-year-old boy, who died on the spot. Another young person was also there but the person managed to escape.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

Police arrested driver of the car, a 22-year-old man after the incident.

They are investigating into the case as aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and aggravated negligent murder.

The Accident Investigation Board and police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident to get more information in this regard.
