Kaikkonen to visit Ankara to discuss NATO ratification process

Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen will make a working visit to Ankara on Wednesday and Thursday on the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar, said the ministry in a press release on Monday.

The Defence Ministers will discuss Finland's NATO membership process, general security situation and defence cooperation between the two countries.

Kaikkonen will also lay a wreath at the Atatürk Mausoleum during his visit.

Earlier on November 29, Foreign Ministers of Finland, Sweden and Turkey on Tuesday met in Bucharest and discussed the progress of Turkey´s position regarding Finland, Sweden´s NATO membership ratifications.
