Four Palestinians were killed by Israeli army shelling and gunfire in different parts of the Gaza Strip on Thursday, medical sources said, reported Xinhua.
Gaza's health authorities said hospitals across the enclave received four bodies and 12 wounded people over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025 to 1,538, with 5,498 others wounded.
Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said the hospital received the bodies of two Palestinians who were killed when an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle in the southwest of Gaza City, and a woman was killed by Israeli army fire in the Jabalia refugee camp in the north.
In southern Gaza, Nasser Medical Complex said in a brief statement that a Palestinian was killed and several others were wounded when an Israeli drone struck an electric bicycle west of Khan Younis.
Also on Thursday, Palestinian Minister of Labor Inas al-Atari warned that the Palestinian labor market is facing a worsening crisis due to Israeli policies and measures that have prevented tens of thousands of Palestinian workers from reaching their workplaces.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ramallah, al-Atari said the unemployment rate reached 28 percent in the West Bank and exceeded 80 percent in the Gaza Strip in the second quarter of 2026.
Al-Atari noted that more than 140,000 Palestinian workers had been prevented from reaching their workplaces inside the Green Line since October 2023. Meanwhile, approximately 300,000 workers in the West Bank had been directly or indirectly affected by checkpoints, closures, and restrictions on movement and access to workplaces and markets.
