At least five people were killed and two others injured after a dilapidated wall of a government school collapsed in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, police and rescue officials said on Friday, reported Xinhua.

The incident occurred in the Mominabad area of Orangi Town, where seven people were trapped under the rubble after the wall collapsed, a Rescue 1122 spokesperson said. Three people died on the spot, while two more succumbed to injuries while being transported to a nearby hospital, the spokesperson told Xinhua.

Police said that drug addicts usually gathered near the wall and were allegedly attempting to remove iron rods from it, which may have weakened the structure.
