International investment in Tunisia reached about 1.93 billion Tunisian dinars (about 660.28 million U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2026, up 11.5 percent from the same period of 2025, the Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency said Wednesday.
International direct investment accounted for the vast majority of inflows during the period, with the manufacturing sector accounting for the largest share at 72 percent of the total, followed by the energy sector at 19 percent, according to a statement released by the agency.
Portfolio investment also recorded a significant surge, rising 81.3 percent year on year to 17.7 million dinars.
The figures reflect continued investor confidence in Tunisia, particularly in high-value-added sectors, and highlight the country's ongoing efforts to strengthen its standing as an attractive foreign investment hub, said the statement.
