8 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza Strip

At least eight Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombing and gunfire in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources reported Wednesday, said Xinhua.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, told Xinhua that an Israeli drone fired a missile at a tent sheltering displaced people south of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Basal said that the strike killed four people instantly and wounded several others.

Simultaneously, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a group of Palestinians in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City, killing one person and wounding others, according to Basal.

Basal also reported that a child from the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City was killed by Israeli gunfire.

Earlier in the day, Palestinian medical sources announced the death of a truck driver, shot by Israeli forces in the al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Al-Shifa Medical Complex issued a brief press statement reporting the death of an eight-year-old child who succumbed to injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle in the al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, on Tuesday evening.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment on these developments.

Gaza-based health authorities said in its daily report that hospitals in the strip received 8 dead and 17 wounded in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll since the ceasefire was declared on Oct. 10, 2025, to 1,084 dead and 3,491 wounded.

According to the authorities, the Palestinian death toll since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,110, while the number of wounded has reached 173,599.
