Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, as Palestinian officials warned of a deteriorating humanitarian situation in the coastal enclave, reported Xinhua.

Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli aircraft targeted a gathering of Palestinians in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, killing two and injuring four others.

In another attack, a young Palestinian man was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a civilian vehicle in central Gaza City, according to Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on these developments.

Meanwhile, Bassam Zaqout, director of medical relief in the Gaza Strip, warned of a complete collapse of the enclave's environmental and health systems as summer heatwaves intensify.

In a press statement, Zaqout said the tents of displaced people have become like "human ovens" and breeding grounds for disease due to the severe water shortage and the accumulation of waste.

Separately, Saadi Ali, director general of the Project Management Unit at the Palestinian Water Authority, described the current water situation in the Gaza Strip as "catastrophic."

In statements to the official Voice of Palestine radio, Ali said the reduced water supply is affecting all of Gaza, and the most deprived group is the displaced people in camps and tents, where about 80 percent lack adequate access to essential water supplies.

He urged the international community and mediating nations to intervene immediately, pressing for the reopening of crossings to allow vital water-sector supplies.

These developments come amid continued field tensions despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025, with Hamas and Israel trading accusations of violations.
