Three police officers and one Palestinian civilian were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Friday, according to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA and medical sources, reported Xinhua.

WAFA reported that an Israeli drone struck a vehicle near the entrance of the al-Maghazi refugee camp, killing three and injuring several others.

The Palestinian Interior and National Security Ministry confirmed in a statement that the three deceased were police officers.

Separately, local medical sources said a young Palestinian man died in Israeli shelling while collecting firewood in the northern town of Beit Lahia.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the attacks.

According to the latest figures from Gaza-based health authorities, 1,031 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army fire since the ceasefire took effect in October last year, bringing the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to 73,043.
