Torrential rains, flooding leave 7 dead, 7 missing in Vietnam

Flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains left seven people dead and seven others missing in central Vietnam, reported Xinhua, quoting the Vietnam News Agency on Tuesday.

Seven people were killed due to rain-induced landslides in Khanh Hoa Province. Two others remained unaccounted for in the same province.

Three people were missing following another landslide in Da Nang City.

Quang Tri Province and Hue City each reported one person missing after being swept away by floodwaters.

The deluge submerged 13,759 homes across Quang Tri Province and Hue City, destroying 7,000 hectares of rice fields. The floods killed or swept away 357 livestock and 4,900 poultry.

Transport networks in Quang Tri Province, Hue City, Quang Ngai Province, and Lam Dong Province remained heavily disrupted.
