As agreed between China and the United States, Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet with US President Donald Trump in Busan, the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

They will exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday.

The Presidents are poised to hold a high-stakes summit as the world’s two largest economies struggle to resolve a protracted trade conflict that has upended the global economy, reported Cable News Network (CNN).

Tensions have flared again in recent weeks over Washington’s expansion of export controls and China’s tightening of rare earth export curbs.

But the United States and China made apparent progress over the weekend after the latest round of trade talks in Malaysia, the CNN report added.
