Sri Lanka's Road Development Authority (RDA) will install safety barriers along hazardous embankments in three mountainous provinces following a recent rise in road accidents, a senior official said Sunday, reported Xinhua.
K. Chandrakumara, deputy director general of the RDA's Road Safety and Traffic Management Division, said the first phase will cover Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.
About 50 km of iron safety fences will be constructed at identified high-risk locations across the three provinces, he said.
