At least four people were killed and another one was injured critically after lightning struck them in the central India state of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, officials said Monday, reported Xinhua.

According to officials, heavy rains and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes lashed several parts of the state on Sunday evening.

"Last evening lightning struck a couple and their minor son when they were on a motorbike in Dhar district. The husband-wife duo was killed on spot, while their son was critically injured," an official said.
