Cuba sees no COVID-19 death for 5th day in a row

Cuba registered zero COVID-19 death for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday, keeping its pandemic death toll at 8,313, the Ministry of Public Health said, reported Xinhua.
The country's total number of infections reached 963,885, after 72 new cases were detected in the past 24 hours, the ministry said in its daily report.
Some 316 COVID-19 patients remain hospitalized, with hospitalizations holding steady at about 300 patients for almost a week.
The province of Holguin saw the highest number of new daily cases (26), followed by Camaguey (9) and Havana (8).
A fast-paced mass vaccination campaign is underway on the island, with a little over 9 million of the country's 11.2 million inhabitants fully vaccinated so far, according to the latest ministry data.
The immunization campaign is being carried out with the Cuban-made vaccines Abdala, Soberana-02 and Soberana Plus, three of five vaccines developed nationally.
