Temperature likely to go minus 40°C as Finland shivers with cold

The country is going through cold weather as the temperature fell down significantly since early Monday, according to Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).

The FMI recorded minus 33 degrees Celsius to minus 14 degrees Celsius at different parts in the country late Monday night.

According to FMI forecast, the cold weather will continue and mercury will go down to minus 40 degrees Celsius in the northern part of the country in next few days.

The lowest temperature of the day minus 36.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Juuka, North Karelia and Salla, Lapland.
