VAR process of red card for Switzerland's Embolo was wrong

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) on Tuesday said that Switzerland forward Breel Embolo should not have been sent off during the quarter-final of World Cup between Argentina and Switzerland, international media reported, quoting a circular issued by IFAB.
The Switzerland player got a second yellow card at the 72nd minute soon after the team tied the score at 1-1.
Switzerland's momentum was short-lived as Embolo was sent out for allegation of simulation following a VAR review. The decision overturned the referee's earlier booking of Paredes for a foul.
Argentina scored two more goals in extra time to beat the 10-man Switzerland 3-1 with help from the red-card decision at Kansas City Stadium in Kansas City, the United States on July 11 (US local time).
