Brazil´s Raphinha sidelined by hamstring strain, Doku ruled out of Belgium's next match

Raphinha will undergo treatment on a hamstring injury in an effort to return to action during the World Cup, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Saturday, reported Xinhua.

The Barcelona forward left the pitch during the first half of Brazil's 3-0 win over Haiti in Philadelphia on Friday and subsequent imaging tests confirmed a right hamstring strain.

"He will follow an intensive treatment protocol under the supervision of the Brazilian national team's medical staff, with the aim of recovering and returning to action as quickly as possible," read a CBF statement.

The injury is a recurrence of the same problem that sidelined the 29-year-old on several occasions for Barcelona last season.

He is expected to miss Brazil's next match against Scotland in Miami on Wednesday, with Brazilian media reporting he would only be available in the round of 32 or round of 16 in a best case scenario.

Brazil currently leads Group C with four points from two games, ahead of second-placed Morocco on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Manchester City Winger Jeremy Doku has been ruled out of Belgium's World Cup Group G match against Iran in Los Angeles on Sunday, the Belgian team announced on Saturday.

"Due to illness, Doku will not be part of the squad for our upcoming game against Iran," Belgium posted on social media.

Doku, 24, could also miss the knockout stage should Belgium advance, as his wife is due to give birth to their first child in the second week of July.

In Belgium's first Group G match against Egypt, which ended 1-1, Doku started and was replaced in the 86th minute.
