There was good news for Spain coach Luis de la Fuente on Thursday when injured duo Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams were able to return to work with the rest of their teammates at the Spanish training camp in Chattanooga, the United States, reported Xinhua.

It is the first time that the Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao wingers have been able to join the full group training due to hamstring injuries, which saw them both miss the end of the recently concluded La Liga season.

Yamal tore his hamstring while scoring a penalty in his side's La Liga game against Celta Vigo on April 22, while Williams suffered a similar injury in his side's game against Valencia on May 10.

The pair also had to sit out Spain's two warm-up games against Iraq and Peru, although De la Fuente has consistently insisted they would be fit to take part in his country's World Cup debut against Cabo Verde on June 15.

Yamal is arguably the star of the Spain squad and although Williams has had a difficult campaign due to a pelvic problem that was only resolved in the spring, he was a key member of the team that won the 2024 European Championship.

The only player currently unavailable for Spain is Osasuna winger Victor Munoz.
