FC Barcelona advanced to the semifinals of the Women's Champions League with a commanding 6-0 home win over Real Madrid in the second leg on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

More than 60,000 fans at Camp Nou watched Barcelona underline its dominance in a tie that had already been effectively decided by a 6-2 first-leg victory away from home.

Alexia Putellas, making her 500th appearance for the club, opened the scoring after eight minutes, finishing after Misa Rodriguez had parried an initial effort from Ewa Pajor.

Putellas then set up Caroline Graham Hansen for the first of her two goals in the 15th minute, before Irene Paredes headed in from a corner to make it 3-0 after 27 minutes.

Vicky Lopez provided the cross for Pajor to score Barcelona's fourth at the far post in the 34th minute, as the hosts overwhelmed Real Madrid with an aggressive high press.

Putellas and Graham Hansen combined again for the fifth goal 10 minutes into the second half, with the Norwegian finishing into the roof of the net, before Esmee Brugts added a sixth with another far-post finish with just over 15 minutes remaining.
