Real Madrid was booed off at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday after a 1-0 home defeat to Getafe, a result that left it four points behind FC Barcelona at the top of La Liga, reported Xinhua.
Getafe forward Martin Satriano scored the only goal in the 39th minute with a spectacular volley. Despite enjoying 77 percent possession and registering 18 shots, Real Madrid could not find an equalizer.
The loss was Real Madrid's second straight league defeat following a 2-1 setback away to Osasuna.
Alvaro Arbeloa's side was again without top scorer Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid said before the match that Mbappe is undergoing "conservative treatment" for a left knee sprain, with young striker Gonzalo Garcia leading the attack.
Getafe goalkeeper David Soria produced a fine save to deny Vinicius Jr. when the forward was through on goal. Although Real Madrid racked up attempts, it did not test Soria enough. Arbeloa made three early substitutions in the second half to increase the tempo, but to no avail.
Real Madrid's best chance came from a cross, with Antonio Rudiger heading narrowly wide.
The hosts finished with 10 men after teenage winger Franco Mastantuono was sent off in stoppage time for insulting the referee. Getafe's Adrian Liso was also dismissed moments later after kicking the ball away and receiving a second yellow card.
Real Madrid defenders Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras will miss Friday's visit to Celta Vigo after collecting their fifth yellow cards of the season.
