Augsburg claimed a 150th victory in their 500th Bundesliga match on Friday when they extended an unbeaten run at home to a club record equalling eight games with a 2-0 victory over Cologne, reported dpa.

Rodrigo Ribeiro opened the scoring with a fine backheeler off Noahkai Banks' cross from the right in the 55th minute. Alexis Claude-Maurice wrapped up matters into an empty goal with the last kick of the game after Cologne goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe had moved up the field.

Ribeiro had wasted an early chance for Augsburg while Eric Martel headed against the crossbar for Cologne late in the first half.

Augsburg rose to ninth and are 11 points clear of the danger zone with a fourth victory from five games. Cologne in 12th are four points above the bottom three, having garnered just one point from the last four matches.

Matchday 24 continues on Saturday and Sunday, with matches highlighted by a table topper between Borussia Dortmund and leaders Bayern Munich while the bottom two also meet in Werder Bremen v Heidenheim.
