FC Barcelona stayed top of La Liga on Sunday after a hard-fought 3-0 home win over Oviedo, with its attacking quality proving decisive after halftime, reported Xinhua.

Oviedo's disciplined defensive organization kept the match scoreless for the first 45 minutes, before Dani Olmo broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute with a shot that crept inside the far post.

A poor backpass allowed Raphinha to double Barcelona's lead four minutes later, as he finished with a clever chip. Another mistake gifted Barcelona possession and Lamine Yamal sealed the result with an overhead kick.

Atletico Madrid remained third after a 3-0 home win over Mallorca, with Diego Simeone's side registering seven shots on target to Mallorca's one.

Alexander Sorloth opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, David Lopez's own goal made it 2-0 in the 75th, and Thiago Almada added a third three minutes from time.

Real Sociedad continued its improved form with a 3-1 home win over Celta Vigo, with two goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and a Brais Mendez penalty. Real Sociedad held on after Duje Caleta-Car was sent off for a foul just before halftime.

Alaves beat Betis 2-1 at home to climb out of the bottom three. Carlos Vicente scored in the third minute and Toni Martinez added a second in the 47th, before Ez Abde struck a stoppage-time consolation for Betis.
