Slot to hold talks with Salah amid uncertainty over Liverpool future

Liverpool manager Arne Slot said he saw "no reasons to not want Mohamed Salah to stay" at Liverpool and would speak with the winger again on Friday morning, reported Xinhua.

Salah recently said he had been "thrown under the bus" by the club following Saturday's draw at Leeds, after which he was left out of the squad for Tuesday's Champions League match against Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old also insisted he had "earned his place" when speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the Leeds game.

The Egyptian forward, who has scored 250 goals in 420 appearances for the club, has been an unused substitute in two of Liverpool's past three Premier League matches. He last featured in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland on 3 December and has not started a game since the Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven on 26 November.

Asked about Salah's future, despite the forward signing a new two-year deal in April, Slot reiterated: "I have no reasons to not want him to stay."

"I will have a conversation with Mo," he added. "The outcome of that conversation determines how things will look."

Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on Saturday as they aim to bounce back from successive league draws.
