Thomas Müller has reportedly rejected offers from MLS side FC Cincinnati and Serie A team Fiorentina amid ongoing uncertainty about his future once he leaves Bayern Munich in summer.

The Bild newspaper reported on Wednesday that an agent was involved in talks with Fiorentina, but the player doesn't want the transfer.

Müller, 35, will leave Bayern this summer after the club decided to not give him a contract extension. He has spent his entire career at Bayern and won 33 trophies with them, plus the 2014 World Cup.

He hasn't talked about his future after his 25 years at Bayern will end after the Club World Cup June 15-July 13 in the United States.

"I have pursued nothing during these deciding weeks," Müller said after last week's Champions League exit against Inter Milan.

Retirement is unlikely because Müller said he wanted to continue at Bayern where others also expect him to play on after his exit.

"I have the feeling that he still enjoys football a lot," midfielder Joshua Kimmich said, adding that he and Müller have talked about the issue.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said he was convinced that "it isn't over and that he has the energy to tackle something new. Regardless of where he goes, he will enrich this club."

The US could be one destination which would make him follow in the footsteps of former Bayern greats Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller.

Red Bull New York or Los Angeles with LAFC or LA Galaxy could be attractive, and if he decides on an MLS move, Cincinnati will still play a role despite the reported rejection.

According to Bild, Müller is on the club's discovery list, which allows an MLS club to obtain the exclusive rights to a player should he want to join the league.

However, teams can trade or sell discovery rights to a player if the holding club cannot reach a deal.

That was the case with Marco Reus, who joined LA Galaxy from Borussia Dortmund last year. Reus was on Charlotte FC's discovery list and LA Galaxy was forced to pay the rivals $400,000.

A Müller move to the MLS would also be a big statement for the nation one year before it co-hosts the World Cup together with Mexico and Canada.

Italy appears out as Müller does not want to follow Mario Gomez and Franck Ribery who joined Fiorentina after the end of their Bayern spell.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have also been mentioned as potential destinations for the veteran.

With the Club World Cup following the regular season where Bayern could reclaim the Bundesliga title as early as Saturday, Müller still has time to decide.

The tournament in the US could offer him a final opportunity to play alongside young star Jamal Musiala who told Wednesday's edition of the Sport Bild weekly that he wants to be fit for the tournament from a hamstring tear.

"I have one big aim, the Club World Cup. because it is about a lot of prestige, income for the club and a new international title. And we want to win it. I want to be back on the pitch in the US," Musiala said.
