Bottas signs multi-year deal with Alfa Romeo from next year

Mercedes Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas on Monday signed a multi-year deal with the Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo from next year, according to a twitter post by Bottas.

“I’m very happy and excited to let you know that I’ll be joining @alfaromeoracing@F1 team from 2022 with a multi year contract!” Bottas wrote in his twitter post in the afternoon.

Bottas, who won the GP3 title with Vasseur’s ART Grand Prix team in 2011, will leave Mercedes where he has been driving with partner Lewis Hamilton since 2017.

Bottas placed third in the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday where Red Bull's Max Verstappen retook the lead.

Bottas' third place sees him climb to third in the standings with 123 points.
