Brazilian Olympic volleyball player Tandara Caixeta has been sent home from Tokyo 2020 after she was suspended in a doping case, reported Xinhua.

The Brazil team's major opposite, who scored six points in their quarterfinal win, was not on the startlist for Friday's semifinal against South Korea.

An announcement from the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation website said that they were informed on Thursday by the Brazilian Authority for Doping Control regarding "the provisional suspension for potential anti-doping rule violation by the opposite Tandara."

The sample that showed positive was collected one month ago, prior the opening date of the Olympics, said Brazil's Olympic committee.

Brazil has advanced to the Tokyo 2020 women's volleyball final, which is scheduled on Sunday.
