A brace from Kasper Dolberg paved Denmark's way into the quarterfinals after beating uninspired and hapless Wales 4-0 at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam on Saturday, reported Xinhua.

Denmark was able to absorb Wales' powerful start into the game but as the match progressed Kasper Hjulmand's side took over and opened the scoring through Dolberg, who hammered the opener from 17 meters in the 27th minute.

After the break, Denmark started where they left off and made it two, three minutes into the second half after Dolberg benefitted on a misplaced clearance from very close range.

Wales resistance was broken as Joakim Maehle tripled the lead in the 86th minute before Harry Wilson received his marching orders two minutes later.

To make things worse for ten-men Wales, Denmark wasn't done with the scoring as Martin Braithwaite made the most of Andreas Cornelius' assist to get his name on the scoreboards in the added time.

With the result, Wales crash out in the round of the last 16 whereas Denmark face either the Netherlands or Czech Republic in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
