Finland make history beating Denmark in Euro 2020 debut

Finland made history at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen after they beat Denmark by a solitary goal in their first ever UEFA European Championship match late Saturday night.
Joel Pohjanpalo scored the goal at the 60th minute through a sharp head from Jere Uronen's cross as Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel failed to take the ball in his grip resulting the victory for the Finland in their first Group B match by 1-0.
Earlier, the referee suspended the match just before end of the first half after sudden illness of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who collapsed on the ground at 42nd minute. Eriksen was given CPR by medics after suffering suspected sudden cardiac arrest.
Later the match resumed after about one and a half hours when his condition was stabilized at the hospital.
The game restarted with the remaining minutes of the first half played ahead of a five-minute break before the second half kicked off.
Like the first half, the host Denmark dominated the game in the second half also over the new commers but failed to score despite repeated moves.
Although the Denmark got an easy opportunity to level the score at the at 74th minute from a controversial penalty, Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky caught Hojbjerg´s shot with his extra-ordinary performance what he showed in whole the match.
It is the first ever match of Finnish football history in the final round of any major international tournament such as World Cup or European Championship.
Finland will face Russia and Belgium in the rest two matches in Group B on June 16 and June 21 respectively.
